OUR HISTORY

Our Roots

1980

From Sungei Way-Subang Methodist Church (SSMC), 22 young adults and their families decided to heed God's call by stepping up and stepping out. Damansara Utama Methodist Church (DUMC) started their first service on Sunday the 6th of January, 1980. Daniel Ho, along with elders Dr Ling Khoon Chin and Dr Wong Cheng Mung took on the pastoral responsibilities.

Meeting in a first-floor shop lot not far from The Ship in Damansara Utama, 80 people came for the first 5pm gathering. Soon, a number of doctors and medical students from University Malaya joined in.
