If you have questions about Jesus and the Christian faith, Alpha is a safe, friendly place for you to explore them. You don’t even have to believe in Jesus to try Alpha.
WHAT IS ALPHA
Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith, in a friendly, open and informal environment. It typically runs for eleven sessions with a mid-session weekend away. No two Alphas are alike, but they have these three basic elements—food, a talk, and time for discussion.
FIRST, THERE'S FOOD
Food has a way of bringing people together. So most of our sessions start with a meal because it’s a great way to get to know each other and build community.
THEN A TALK
Either a video or live, the talks are intended to be conversation starters, and are about 30 minutes long, 'Each talk explores issues around faith, unpack the basics of Christianity, and addresses questions such as "Who is Jesus?" "Why and how should I read the Bible?" and "How does God guide us?"
FOLLOWED BY A DISCUSSION
The most important part of Alpha. It’s where you can share your thoughts and ideas on the topic, and discuss it in a small group. You don’t have to say anything, or you can say all you want. And there is no wrong question or opinion.
HOW YOU CAN JOIN
Before the sessions start, you can join a preview. The preview will explain what Alpha is about, how it is done, and what you can expect. Food’s included, of course.
Alpha meets on Thursday evenings with doors opening for food at 7 pm. You can turn up on the night, but it will be great if you can let us know you are coming, it will help us to prepare enough food for everyone. Pre-register by filling in the form below:
