EQUIP: ADVANCED SCHOOL OF LEADERSHIP

Partnering with Malaysia Bible Seminary (MBS), the Advanced School of Leadership (ASOL) is a higher learning programme by DUMC. These classes provide in-depth theological teaching and training for ministry leaders and pastors. With accreditation from MBS, those who engage in this programme will learn Biblical truth and application in the context of ministry, church, missions and marketplace.

The ASOL programme includes modules for Certificate of Ministry (Cert. Min.) and Masters of Ministry (M. Min.).

CERTIFICATIONS OFFERED

ASOL-MBS Certificate of Ministry Programme (Cert. Min.)

A 30-credit hour programme for Christian leaders, designed for those who do not have the entry requirements for a Master’s programme.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Be a born-again Christian
  • Completed at least Level 2 of the School of Leadership programme
  • Proficient in English

Cost: RM200 per course

ASOL-MBS Master of Ministry Programme (M.Min.)

A 30-credit hour programme for pastoral staff and Christian leaders, designed to increase their skills and qualifications.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Be a born-again Christian
  • Preferably a pastor or recognised leader of a church or Christian organisation
  • Possess a Bachelor of Theology or a recognised university degree, or equivalent.
  • Experience in Christian ministry required

Cost: RM300 per course

PROGRAMME INFORMATION

Each programme consists of 10 courses worth 3 credit hours per course. The programme may be completed within a minimum of 30 months to a maximum of 6 years.

There will be four core courses and six electives to choose from:

A. CORE COURSES (12 CREDITS)

  • Hermeneutics (Biblical Interpretation) – 3 credits
  • Overview of an Old Testament genre and exegesis – 3 credits
  • Overview of a New Testament genre and exegesis – 3 credits
  • Christian Doctrine for Today – 3 Credits 

B. ELECTIVE COURSES (18 CREDITS)

  • Pastoral Theology and Ministry

Note: Participants can enrol in any three-credit hour course held at the MBS campus (e.g. if one prefers to do more Biblical studies than listed in the core courses)

FORMAT OF CLASSES

Each course runs for about 30 hours — eight weekly evening classes (3 hours each), from 7.30pm – 10.30pm at Dream Centre.
