Hebrews is known as the summary of the Bible. Paul wrote Hebrews as a clarion call to convince the Jews that Jesus is better. Some Jews returned to Judaism as the Romans recognized it as the official religion of the Jews. The pressure was indeed intense to give up the faith to live a peaceful life as a Jew under the Roman empire. <\/p>\n

<\/span>Salvation is free but it didn’t come cheap. Jesus had to die on the cross for our sins. Nothing else is necessary for our salvation. The old tradition of offering sacrifices for our sins is no more. It is rumoured that many organised crimes funded churches for this reason in the past. They commit all the sin, pay the church a sacrifice for their sins and they are then clean to sin again. This was never the intention of sacrifice even in its original context.<\/p>\n

<\/span>None of our good deeds can get us a spot in heaven. There is a story of a rich man who requested to be buried with all the gold he made. When he was in heaven, the angel  said, “Excellent, you brought a few more bricks for the pavement. You will be a construction worker in heaven.”  Our good deeds mean nothing if it is done with the wrong motives and expectations.<\/p>\n

<\/span>When I talk about Christianity to my friends, they cannot accept the fact that they don’t have to do anything.  They say, “What? Just believe in God? That’s all?” The answer is a simple YES. No strings attached. They feel that they need to do something to ‘earn’ their spot in heaven since many previous post modern teachings encourage this. Many teachers, like Jim Jones, encourage people to sell off their wealth, donate it to the organization and move to their meditation centres in a remote location.  Many are helpless that they cannot do anything or earn Jesus’s love or salvation.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Christ loved us even before we existed. He knew that He had to die on the cross for our sin. He accepted us with no strings attached. Once you know you are forgiven and have the Holy Spirit in you, you will want to tell others. If we share the good deals we find in Lazada with others, we will definitely share Christ’s love with others. We devote our lives to Christ because we want to, not because it will earn us a spot in heaven. <\/p>\n

<\/span>May we continue to rededicate our lives to Christ knowing that Jesus is indeed the better sacrifice.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
