As I reflected on my 3rd wedding anniversary with my wife, Lynn, I can only be awed and amazed by how God has been with us every step of the way.
We started dating in 2017 as a long distance relationship with me being in Sabah and she being here in KL. Working as a government doctor meant I had little control of when I could be allowed to transfer back to KL. Many things were uncertain and the only thing we could do was to trust and have faith in God’s providence. And indeed, I was granted transfer back to KL seamlessly and we were able to start planning for our wedding.
The timing of God was ridiculously perfect, no one would have known that Covid and lockdown in 2020 would bring such a significant impact to everyone’s life. As we started looking for a place to stay, my aunt’s condo was vacated by her tenant and it became available for us to rent in 2020 which was just nice for us as we planned to get married in February that year. We managed to have our wedding with the company of family and friends and even had our honeymoon just before the lockdown started. As lockdown commenced, my wife had a pay cut but praise God that I was still working and we had a steady income. As for me, I was blessed with companionship and support, working tirelessly throughout the Covid period but coming back to a loving and caring home.
Now we are in year 2023: As I look back over these years- I can only reflect on God’s goodness and perfect timing. If God can do so much for me in those times, I can surely trust in His timing even for the years to come.
3 years is not a very long time, and we have a long journey ahead of us – but as we anchor ourselves in Christ, and have Him in the center of everything, we continually pray that our marriage reflect the love of Jesus Christ had for His Church
Glory to God that He delights in our everyday affairs and that I can always approach His throne fully trusting and with hope.
