In 2014, on a bright Easter Day, I made a significant decision in my life. Filled with the power of the Spirit, I raised my hand, stood up from my seat, and chose to follow Jesus. It was a moment of clarity and commitment.
However, in the days that followed, I didn’t quite experience that same intensity of connection. I felt like something was missing. Then one day, Pastor Chris spoke about the Holy Spirit and how we should welcome and acknowledge Him. He suggested saying things like, “Good morning, Holy Spirit.” I started doing this daily for over a week.
Then, something remarkable happened. One day, a strong feeling washed over me, urging me to pray for my dad. I followed this inner prompting and offered a prayer for his well-being and safety. I didn’t fully understand why, but I trusted this intuition.
Later that day, I received a call from my mom. She shared a startling incident that had occurred while my dad was working with some equipment that involved fire. Somehow, the flame had touched his body, but miraculously, he remained unharmed. His body hair was singed, but he suffered no injuries and was able to continue with his day as if nothing had happened.
In that moment, I realized the power of prayer and divine protection. Even though I didn’t know exactly what to pray for at the time, my simple act of lifting up my dad in prayer had made a difference. It was a profound reminder that God’s grace extends to everyone, even to those who may not share our faith.
I felt grateful for this divine intervention and thanked God for watching over my dad. It was a testament to the mysterious ways in which faith and prayer can influence our lives, offering protection and blessings to those we care about, regardless of their beliefs.
