Today’s world is full of many challenges, be it at the workplace or within the family circle. Truly I have found that my life requires the constant touch of the Holy Spirit and the Word. Besides my daily devotion time, I have for the past decade been connecting with the ladies of DUMC in reading the Word through our Women to Women (W2W) group. We learn and share with one another through a different book each year to understand and grow deeper in Christlikeness and do His Will.
Miraculously, I discovered that the Word we study each year speaks personally to my life, my family and also my workplace. Indeed God knows best and brings me through each experience to help me know Him better and to share my testimonies with those around me. We sisters-in-Christ enjoy each other’s company besides sharing our thoughts on our walk with God and the challenges we face in our lives. The Love of Christ has bonded us in praying for each other. Indeed His Word is the Basic Instructions we need for Kingdom Living to prepare ourselves for the Kingdom of Heaven.
I am also reminded of my late mentor, Pastor Magdelene Lim who had tirelessly met up with me and a group of ladies every Wednesday morning to pray and minister to us . She had the heart of Christ to love, guide and lead us in prayer and ministering to those who face challenges. Similarly our late brother in Christ, Robbin Khoo had tirelessly trained and guided people in leadership and spent time with those who sought his counsel. As I reflect on these good examples of disciples of God whose heart had been transformed by His Love, I now look forward to next year’s W2W study with excitement to learn more about the Word of God for my life. May the Holy Spirit continue to transform me through the Word as I seek Him everyday and do His Will.
