Due to my responsibilities as the sole caregiver for my 88-year-old loved one who is in the final stages of lung and heart failure, as well as being a full-time worker, I have very little free time and rest. As a result, I have been attending DUMC’s online services on most Saturday evenings, although I had previously attended DUMC in person before the pandemic. That is another story of the miracle of how I was touched by God and came to know Christ.

I had been praying hard to God to heal my multi-nodular goiter, which had grown large again after two previous surgeries. A third surgery would be very risky for me, and it would mean that I would have to take thyroxine hormone for the rest of my life. Every night, I prayed to God to restore me to the original state in which He created me. At times, I felt disappointed and even told my Christian friends that God had never answered my most fervent prayers. I think I may have even made God angry because the goiter grew a little bigger after that! Hahaha!

However, I soon realised that I had been praying for the goiter to grow smaller, not disappear altogether! In November 2022, when Pastor Chris Kam asked us to place our hands on the part of our body that needed healing, I followed his instructions and placed my hands on my goiter. With my eyes closed, I could feel God’s presence in front of me on the sofa where I was sitting. There was some pain, but then the biggest visible nodule disappeared the very next day!

I was quite sure that the biggest nodule had disappeared, but I waited until my annual scan in March 2023 to confirm this scientifically. The radiologist asked me if I had done anything to the nodule, such as poking it with a needle, but I told him that I had only prayed very hard. My endocrinologist refused to believe that it was a miracle healing, saying that this was possible due to the nodule being made of cyst and colloid. Nevertheless, I am certain that this was a miracle healing from God because I felt it happen during the online service itself.

I am sharing my scan result here as proof that God does heal, even online!

Praise the Lord for His grace, kindness, and care for me! I pray that God will keep my existing and new thyroid nodules from growing large again. He has also answered my prayer by sending me a good domestic helper just last week to ease my burden.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
