Life in DUMC for me had seen various seasons involving my walk in just worshipping God before choosing to be a member of DUMC and stepping into Cell Groups (CGs) as my husband and I seek to serve in various ministries. Today’s message resonates in our lives so clearly as we realise that being in various CGs showed us that there were actually no meaningful relationships being built in some and so we decided to move on to seeking meaningful relationships in another.

Even in serving in one ministry was because I had the purpose of being able to get first hand opportunity to CDs about sermons in the church. It was actually how I ended up serving in this ministry when the CD Counter closed. I was introduced to this Writing Ministry as my leader in the CD Counter found out a need in the team and also because I had been an English teacher at that time. I believe that serving here has enabled me to share my life’s struggles and journey as I resonate with each sermon that ,and is still speaking to me.

In my journey in DUMC since before 2010, I had faced challenges in life and was able to build relationships in the first CG but unfortunately being new, we did not fit in well and had to leave because I had voiced out about a suggestion which was not agreeable with the leader. But today, I had come to maturity and learned to be quick to listen and slow to speak, especially with CG members and leaders as each one is with different levels of understanding and thoughts about the purpose why we are gathered together in CG.

Over the years, being equipped with the Word of God through book studies through my Women to Women (W2W) groups I had grown to learn to love members in the groups and also put into practice to love people as they are, even when it is difficult to understand them. At present, I hope to be able to strengthen the relationship with the ladies in my CG and care for them through prayers and keeping in constant communication with one another.

As I am the most senior among the ladies, I hope I can share my life’s experiences as a wife and mother in the various challenges which I had overcome by looking to the Word and the Holy Spirit to guide me.
