I want to give thanks and praise to our mighty God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
At the end of 2022, I realised that I had frequent urinary urges but ignored it thinking it was due to my aging. At the beginning of 2023, I also began feeling occasional discomfort in my left upper abdomen next to the navel. Both doctors I consulted said it was gastric. When my urinary and abdominal problems still persisted, I consoled myself that it was nothing, but feared the unknown.
In Sept 2023, during a church sermon on David and Goliath , I received God’s word to not have fear but to go and consult a doctor about my anxieties over my abdomen.
I went to see the earlier doctor and was then informed that I had a large growth on my right uterus. I was advised to see a gynaecologist immediately as it would require surgery and further treatment. I was stunned and gripped with fear. I asked God ‘why me’?
Before this, since the pandemic, I had turned to reading novels and had faltered and strayed from my walk with God such as praying and reading His Word daily, despite my husband’s frequent reminders.
My husband asked me to immediately seek God’s grace and healing. He prayed with me and we asked God for healing. I repented and sought His mercy and forgiveness for my sins (Psalm 41:4). I relied on God for peace and strength and was able to sleep well.
The gynaecologist informed me that I had a large growth on my right ovary which required surgery. He informed me that the growth would be sent for biopsy after the surgery. One night while waiting for an MRI appointment, I woke up suddenly and in my drowsiness, I seemed to hear the words “turn over and you are healed”. I had been praying “Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed” (Jeremiah 17:14). I turned over but forgot to acknowledge His words. I prayed to God for another affirmation.
On another night later, three days before my surgery, I again suddenly woke up from a dream where I seemed to see two hands holding something and a voice saying “you are healed”. Immediately, I acknowledged and thanked Him.
After the surgery, the gynaecologist told me that the growth was 16cm and malignant but the biopsy indicated that the cancer was contained in the ovary and I did not need further treatment. No words could describe the joy I felt and I immediately thanked and praised God.
I am now well and healthy, Halleluyah! Now, I understand that God has a purpose in allowing things to happen. God is so good. God was watching over me all this while.
My life has now been totally changed. I pray to Him daily and read His Word daily. Jesus is the God that healed me. He has taught me to obey and trust Him.
I am truly blessed that our Father has given me a new lease of life. I thank Him for His words “with long life I will satisfy him” (Psalm 91:16).
Thank you, Father and all glory to You. Amen
