There have been many instances when my family and I had received love from brothers and sisters in Christ. It has given us everlasting hope and faith in our Lord and Saviour as we walk faithfully with Him.
I remember the time during the financial crisis of 1996-1997 when we had newly moved into the first home we had bought in Kajang. My husband had only earned RM 2,000 for the whole year due to the economic situation of our country. At that time, I was expecting my second son who was due in October 1996. By God’s mercy and grace, a lady pastor came to help with baby clothes and my sister’s in-laws who stayed next door helped cook for my confinement. After paying bills and our home loan we were very low in funds but the Lord had sent a church sister with blessings of finance and also milk for the newborn. God is good all the time. We were very thankful for the blessings of help and provision which we had not asked for but provided by God who sent them.
Years later when we were doing better in life and had moved to DUMC, we met a family who were serving in His ministry and they were also facing financial challenges as they were expecting another child into the family. I was reminded of my circumstances earlier and was prompted by the Holy Spirit to bless the family for the coming new addition into the family.
Similarly, whenever my husband is prompted by the Holy Spirit to be a blessing whether in Ministry or in someone’s life, we do not hesitate to do the good work that the Lord requires of us. We always remember: It is more blessed to give than to receive. Moreover, we are forever thankful for all that we had received during our time of need.
May the Lord bless all who do good works for the Glory of His Name.
