I resonate with Pastor Mike about the belief we live by because of our past hardship of lack as a young child growing up. Our culture had indeed moulded instincts in us to strife to do our best to gather up a storehouse for times of lack. I had indeed been very frugal in using my income until I met my spouse who had been living by faith trusting God for his needs. I had begun to be changed in trusting in God. As I learn the language of the Kingdom to trust Him to provide especially when we first bought our first home and my husband had only earned RM 2000 the whole year. Although we faced the challenges financially, God had been so real as he had sent His people to provide our needs and support when I had delivered our second son. His providence had been so timely that I had changed from trusting my own ability to trusting Him and had His peace even when things looked bleak after delivering my second son.
When we moved into our present home after 6 years in the first home, we were called to serve in a small family church which needed our time every weekend and so my boys were also in church almost every weekend serving in the worship ministry. It came to a point where we realised that our boys needed their time with others of the same age. They were blessed to join a CG nearby our house and had grown in their walk with Christ.
Yet, after starting work, we could see the pull of the world in their lives. We continue to pray and ask God to send the Holy Spirit to minister to them. Now, we hope to see a difference in their life as we try to get them to be interested in church ministry again. We pray that they will have a personal encounter with Jesus again. Yes, praying unceasingly and serving in CG has given us new hope to do His calling to others in church.
