What might have silenced the bells within the heart,
Once ringing so loudly, like singing filled the air?
Was it the circumstances? Was it sin?
Or was it just simply forgetting to make them ring?
“oh needless pain we bear”, the hymn reminds
Of peace forsaken, joy cast away,
“All because we do not carry
every thing to God in prayer”.
When life, bogged down by worries and duties,
Let it be remembered: Christian life is not about
only reading the Bible or uttering prayers,
but reading and praying in presence
of whom that brings the Word to life—
Christ Himself and the community of Christ.
“Hallelu, Hallelu, Hallelujah,
Praise ye the Lord”
as the children sing at Children Church
Place your hand on the toll, and opt for the heart
to ring aloud with His joy once more.
If one hand is not enough, allow for another
For Life is not meant for solitude, but rather
shared and echoed, in communion with one another.
When one bell rings, so will another,
For each was made in fear and wonder, and verily
made whole, by the One who loved us first.
